I wish Nissan would have made a us market inline 6 engine for the z31 32 and 33. Like a RB engine, but larger displacement. Not necessarily turbo. I think the inline 6 is what gives a z it's character. When they dropped that engine, I personally think they started producing a completely different car.

That Datsun in-line six was a beauty.  If I recall correctly it was a copy of a 1960's six-cylinder Mercedes-Benz engine.

It was an amazing engine.  When I was in college, I had an 'emergency' that caused me to drive for 2+ hours near redline.  It just purred and purred the whole way - never got hot or showed any signs of displeasure.
