1/28/12

Great meet today, weather was amazing and there were again a few really special cars (which I'll save for last).

Also, Mazda Design USA had a few people on the ground with a camera doing interviews. They caught me in my Mazdaspeed shirt so I chatted with them a little bit. They asked me what I drove, why I went with the Speed, and then asked what I would ask for in the next generation "if I could ask for one thing from the engineering team." I explained that my favorite part of the Speed / Miatas in general is the purity, how 'analog' it is. No bluetooth sync, no self-parking, just a simple lightweight sports car. Front engine, rear wheel drive, 6-speed, limited slip. Keep it uncluttered, keep the price down, let the owners modify as they'd like. They also asked me, "your car is turbo... do you think the next MX-5 should be turbo or have more horsepower?" That was an easy one... haha. I got a Mazdaspeed hat out of it, hopefully the design team takes my suggestions to heart!

2/4/12

Took my point-and-shoot camera today instead of relying on my phone, I think the photos are noticeably better. Unfortunately I had to work this morning, so it was a quick jog through the parking lot and maybe not as many pictures as I would have liked.

Wish I could have gotten more photos of the E-Type coupe

Not sure what this was?

Thanks so much for putting these up!

One of the best threads on this site, no doubt about it.  afro

Your photography skills really shine too.

I did have to LOL at a comment from the previous set of photos (in reference to a Citroen) you said " spent a while standing there trying to figure out WTF was going on under the hood."

Having had the chance to see under the hood of exactly two Citroens in my entire life, I distinctly remember doing the same thing both times! Strange automobiles, they are.

Magnus - Can't tell you enough how much I enjoy this thread.  That you appreciate everything from muscle to mid-90s Japanese to mindblowing exotics means we all get some great cars to admire (all the way in Texas for me, further for others).  Thanks for taking the time to post.  I'll try in April to post shots from our one-and-only decent car show (the Lone Star Roundup).

btw, I owned the '69 version of that '68 Olds convertible when I was in high school.  Boy did that bring back memories!  thumup

YES!  Dead chickens and Burt Reynolds live on!  Simply the best of the Firebirds/Trans Ams!  Those look great in any color (even rust).

Got a new phone that does panoramic shots, here's a couple sneak previews for today.

Apparently it also resizes them to be really small. Which is disappointing. You'll have to squint...

Real update coming later.

Real update coming later.

I just checked, and apparently it was set to take 640 x (small) photos from the factory. It wasn't very obvious when looking at photos on the phone, but I've bumped it up to 8MP. I'll try to get proper panoramas in the future...

2/18/12

I've had to work the past four Saturdays so I've had to get to C&C earlier and take my pictures more quickly. Getting there earlier is good in that I have fewer people in the way of my shots, but bad because there's less light so it's harder to catch a clean image.

This week's theme is going to be Lamborghini. Never seen this many in one place before, I wish I could have paused to enjoy them a while longer.

Pantera

Mustang day? Meh

Countach and Diablo

(snuck that one in there)

And for the two highlights of the show: Lambos new and old!

Old school Lamborghini 400GT, one of 247 built.

And the new school: Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale

One of 150 produced.

That's all for this week, hope you enjoy them.

Great photos!  The red car you couldn't identify reminds me of some of the older Mosler cars, though I'm really not sure.  I don't think it is.

I also read up on that Vector you posted on the 4th..that was a one of one show car back in 1993.  I knew I recognized it...I was a car crazy 15 year old then.  Wild.

Thanks from your frozen Northern neighbours.
