The Auxmod is a small circuit board that is inserted in the bottom of the stock radio.  It allows line-in from your
iPod and also allows you to listen to your iPod through the stereo.

The radio has to be removed completely to gain access to the bottom of the unit.

Removing the radio is very easy to accomplish.

Tools you'll need:

(1)  Credit card or like tool
(2)  Radio removal tools (can be purchased at Pep Boys, etc.) or 4 pieces of 10" straight lengths of wire hangars

Step 1:

Insert credit card into the space between the radio trim and the radio body.
Lean the card towards the center the trim will wedge itself far enough to be removed.

I used 2 cards on the left side and the trim was easier to remove.

Here's what the radio looks like without the trim pieces and the removal holes exposed.

Step 2

Insert the removal tools or the hanger pieces into the 4 lower holes on each side.
Push the tools far enough so that you can feel them slide in.

Step 3

Pull all four tools at the same time and gently pull the radio straight out.

Here's the radio completely out before the antenna lead and electrical harness were removed.

Here's what the removal tools/hanger wires look like when they're fully inserted and seated:

Step 4

Remove the antenna lead and wiring harness.

Wiring harness insert on the left and the antenna lead insert on the right.

The bottom of the radio and the insert where the Auxmod will be installed

Step 5

Here's the Auxmod.  Notice the female 1/8" line-in on the circuit board.  That's where you'll run a stereo
plug (male) into and out to your iPod.

Remove the protect covers from the black adhesive pads on the bottom.
Align the circuit with pads facing down.

Step 6

Insert the circuit and then gently press down on the circuit board to ensure that the pads stick to the radio.

Do not forget to insert your stereo line-out before you reinsert the radio back into the bay.

Remove the radio removal tools from the sides of the radio before reinserting the radio.
Reconnect the antenna lead and the wiring harness to the radio.
Gently push the radio back into the bay and reinsert the 2 trim pieces.
