Seriously considering purchasing this after reading all the positive reviews.  Currently being sold for $320 by miataroadster.  For those who have it installed, still worth it at this price? (From what I understand it was ~$200 when it first came out...  Thanks in advance for your feedback!  Want to place my order before the 11/3 deadline.
I got mine during the last group buy, have lived with it all summer, and it is still a true joy to drive!

From a practical standpoint? .. of course not.
Car already shifts.
Same thing with us who buy an LE or a BE or put 15" wheels or coilovers on these cars.
None of these are practical...car already runs and drives.
But that's not the point of buying this car or all its aftermarket stuff ... now is it?  Grin
Point is nobody can answer your question.
Some of us have no problem shelling out serious $ for 30 extra HP while others cant understand why.
Same  thing with all other scenarios.
One person who says yes is just as correct as someone who tells you no.

Don't forget the third category. Those of us who want to, but can't. Sometimes being a responsible, grown-up/parent just sucks.

MR SSK for me... Hopefully someday.

For what it's worth, I'm thinking about taking mine back out and going back to stock.  I just can't stand the noise it makes.  But apparently, according to another thread where we discussed this aspect (http://www.mazda-speed.com/forum2/index.php/topic,26570.msg328881.html#msg328881), I'm apparently a bit of a "lost my balls" kind of guy for minding the noise, which actually drowns out my radio when it's played at reasonable volumes.

Just something to be aware of.  I followed the instructions meticulously (I'm an Engineer...anal retentive comes baked in).

I'm a Computer Engineer - Memorial University of Newfoundland class of 2002.  I did software product development and software consulting work for 10 years; now I do R&D Tax and Government Incentives work at a Big 4 accounting firm (how's that for a left turn for an engineer? Wink)

Play Time is also an Engineer.

I have the SSK and have noticed that I do hear a lot more noise from the tranny through the shifter if I have my hand resting on it. As soon as I let go the noise is greatly reduced. It has helped me remember not to drive with my hand on the shifter!  thumup

PS - as for the off topic discussion, I am also a Mechanical Engineer. Graduated in 2012 and I work for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. Yay engineering  afro
