Met up with Bill Wilner (from miataroadster.net) at KINOD over the weekend to pick up my SSK. If you think he's cool on-line, you'll think he's way cooler in person Smiley Thanks for the Short Shifter Bill!

This thing is sick! Easy to install and a great improvement over stock, I won't bore you with any more reading as you probably already heard this thing is great. On with the pics:

Stock shifter was sad and raggedy

Started installation...

Side by side comparison... FWD >> x2

Pause > Play> Installation was so easy, I was able to get an ice cream cone
while in the process... (not really)

Dump this sucker in...

Installed!

I've had it for one day and I can't stop thinking about going out to drive, upgrade is awesome  drivingss

Thanks again Bill!

I have been fighting a speeding ticket forever! Today is the due date though, I'm keeping my fingers crossed so that I can use that money for Project -Zero Four-  Cool

Thanks to my buddy and co-worker Todd Cameron (at speedingticketdude.com) I beat a ticket I got on Valentine's Day (who gives a ticket on Valentine's?). Damn COPS ruined my romantic dinner, I couldn't even stomach the food that day, had to hide it from my wife or she would flip if she found out!

-moderators feel free to remove the site if this isn't allowed-

I've learned my lesson, no more speeding, but if anyone around the LA area needs help, I'd ask this guy for advice.

On a more exciting note!

Received a mysterious package from Japan, will post pictures of the contents as soon as I get the chance....

Don't raise your expectations too much Rotary, I don't want you being disappointed in the end  Grin

The pictures from the SSK look like I'm in "Blue Land" or something, I'm hoping to get a better camera soon... sorry to keep you wondering lol

That made me laugh  thanks for following my thread guys.

Sorry it took so long to upload pictures of the "mysterious box" items… I was planning to update sooner than this!

I found Key!s items on a bunch of on-line stores but no one had them in stock. I ended up ordering from Nengun and it only took 90 days to arrive, not even Key!s had them in stock. They made my shift knob when I ordered it, here's what was inside the box:

Not kidding, I opened this box and it filled up my room with an extremely strong  "new car" smell which I thought was cool. Like a dork I sniffed the box  and it made me dizzy lol

The shift knob is perfectly crafted and feels extremely comfortable in my hand. I would go as far as to say it is ergonomic, but I won't know till I use it.

You might not be a fan of the big Key!s logo, but everyone I've showed this to loves the stitching. I think it's sickkk

It's a universal shift knob so it comes with inserts for Nissan, Toyota, blah… blah… blah… all I care about is Mazda but I say: screw these nylon inserts, I'll make my own aluminum one later.

Don't be fooled by the picture (sorry about the dust) these things are shiny as heck and really cool looking, I hope my girl doesn't say the stars are "cute" (she probably will)

Here's a family picture excluding some of the hardware and instructions provided….

I probably will not be posting any updates until I get a new camera, all of my pictures have been crap so far. I don't know… I feel that if my pictures suck, this thread also sucks! (Or maybe it just sucks period lol) I'll see you all once I upgrade.

As promised! New camera
Dropped by Aspec over the weekend and met up with Candi to pick up my Works Bell Rapfix II QRS. I've got to say, they have some awesome customer service, they really care about their customers.

The RapFix II comes with PCD for both MOMO and NARDI type steering wheels so it doesn't matter what kind of steering wheel you decide to buy, it'll bolt on to this QRS.

This is what the steering wheel bolts on to:

A view from the back, once it's removed from the "Plug". This would be the bottom part of your steering wheel:

This is the bottom of the Plug, the part that goes to the Hub:

And here's what your steering wheel attaches to:

Pictures make this thing look like it's heavy but since it's forged, it's pretty damn light -not to mention strong. Still, there are a ton of "use at your own risk" labels all over the instructions… any owners of this product ever have issues with it? I'll give my review once installed but I doubt it will be any time soon, school starts tomorrow. No more time to buy crap or work on car……..

On a sexier note, here's a tease shot of my steering wheel lol

Enjoy the new camera pics!

Just throwing my steering wheel pics here for you to enjoy.

This build thread thing is cool, but strange in a way... you don't know if people are either loving your style  afro
or think WT* is this guy doing to his car  Roll Eyes ??  Well, I don't know about you guys but I think this looks pretty badass:

Today was a beautiful day to take pictures, to bad I was interrupted by McFly -my dog. I was chillin' outside enjoying
the sun when he decided to jump on my steering wheel and do a flip, he landed on his head and started crying so I had
to stop the photo shoot. Poor little guy, I think he gets excited for car parts as much as I do.

He's doing better now, I promised him a spot on the next photo shoot.  drivingss See you all next week!

Walked into my house with a hardtop today and gave it a quick clean. I'm going to need some good security for it, these things are $$$$

I know, I promised an update a week later and It's been over a month, time flies!

Speaking of flies, I told you about my pesky dog McFly right? As soon as I bring a car part into my house he acts like it's his. After 2 minutes of dancing around my hardtop he stood perfectly still and I snapped this shot:

I should have never trusted him, he licked the camera lens right after I took the picture. I was like  shockeyes

I don't have the top latches for the hardtop but as soon as I get them it'll go on... pictures to follow.

Ok, so… I've been collecting stuff since I was a kid, from Battle Beasts, to Megaman games, to Comic Books, to music CDs, to ultimately my car –the rare MSM Wink

Its parts are no exception, so when I saw the OEM Mazdaspeed Adjustable (Floating Type) Spoiler, the hunt was on. I must have talked to everyone about it, looked at every forum, asked every vendor, even vendors in Japan about such part but no luck.

Almost a year later here it is. Some people said I spent a lot on it, some said I could have bought something else, blah… blah… blah… it doesn’t matter, it’s what I enjoy doing –collecting stuffs Tongue

So, on with the Miata porn:

I was lucky enough to get it Minty fresh In Classic Red -too bad such a rare part will have to be re-painted eventually….

The wing made of ABS resin and comes with aluminum brackets that bolt on to your trunk:

It is adjustable at 3 different height/slant positions, another 3 if you reverse the wing's mounting piece:

I was always curious to see how it would look from inside the car, I didn't know if it would obstruct the view too much but nah, it's cool:

So that's it! I'm really happy with it, I hope you enjoy this thread as much as I enjoy collecting stuff (I doubt it) lol. I hope I can get SOMETHING installed by the end of the year! But as you can probably already tell, I find more fun in buying than installing  Grin

You guys need not to worry, this spoiler/wing is going to look sexy Tongue

Soooo... this is not really an update, but I am happy to say I beat my second speeding ticket. More $ to burn on my car!!!

I've got to warn you speeders out there... traffic school hasn't been available in California since June of 2011. That means points on your record if you lose, the cost of your insurance going up over the course of 2 years is $1800, that's what the Judge told me before going on trial. All of a sudden a $345 ticket sounded like pennies.

The officer said I was going 98mph on a 65mph Highway.... no I wasn't  angel1

Thanks to the  police  for holding on to Project -Zero Four-'s moneyyyyy!
