I am looking to install a beefier front strut bar under the hood. I really like the look of the 949Racing Supermiata bar but it's out of stock. I am looking for prefferably a 1-piece unit, I believe they are stronger.
Also wondering how to re-route the oil catchcan and everything...

I have a Carbing 3-pt front strut brace which is nice & beefy and now use a Track Dog Racing oil catch can which vents to atmosphere - no oil recirculating back into the intake for me: Initially I replaced the OEM brace with one from Beatush: http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=41091&start=38but Keith's comments here http://www.mazda-speed.com/forum2/index.php/topic,22029.15.html convinced me that it wasn't a good upgrade so I upgraded again.

Carbing ftw... but you pay to ball hard. And for that money if you do the work you can have a custom one for the same price... just find a welder to put it together... I am using the stock bar... and I want to have a small bar welded between the frame rails like on s2k's just in front if the engine!

Remember it's made for a right hand drive car and it might not clear things that are reversed under the hood.

Nope not in the slightest... droids don't like miatas... This in another expensive option http://rev9autosport.com/brands/a-g/autoexe/autoexe-front-strut-tower-bar.htmlIn reality though... powder coating the stock one will change the looks while remaining cheap. The stock bar is good for the job... powdercoating shouldn't be more than 60-70 bucks

The carbing brace fits both Lhd and rhd cars. Some have a brake master cylinder brace which is on the wrong side for lhd but won't interfere with anything. Unfortunately mine didn't have this - I assumed they all did
