Chased down a book leak.
Going to West End Alignment to add another .5 deg of camber to the back making it 2 and 2 deg. instead of 2 and 1.5
Next race Nov 4th.

Nice! I'm really enjoying this build thread, keep it up! You might try a larger front sway bar to help out with the over-steer.

I'd consider adding another .5 to the front as well as the rear. The MSM really likes negative camber up front. If you're planning on racing tires -2.5 is the minimum I would consider and -3 is even more appropriate. If you're still running the stock front bar definitely get a larger one. The Racing Beat tubular is a good choice but ditch the stock endlinks because they suck!

Well i need to update my sig. Its only the front FM sway I have. No rear Bar.
949 endlinks already installed. Im going to do some more testing but with it on Full Stiff its too much oversteer. Oddly enough with it softer there was less. idk it was right after i got the FCMs installed aligned and corner weighted. Without the rear bar is the rear just jacking up and im loosing camber instead?

Moved to CST for this year which it Cal Clubs run what ya brung on street tires 140 treadware or higher. This year there isnt anyone in BSP and I really cant afford to go PAX BSP as I would need at least two sets of slicks. On the upside there are some very competitive cars in CST! Place 3rd out of 17. If it werent for a nationally winning class jumper it would have been 2nd. The step up in tire width has really helped me gain half a second over a 60 second autox course so im very happy with that. The rear is still a little jumpy but much more stable. Perhaps an exhaust is next or a 2.7 hydra over my 2.5 or a rebuild on the trans as it grinds in 3rd but only when shifting hard. I figure there is at least 1/2 a second there alone. Pics by my ever so patient Lauren Kane.

Can you provide more info on CST class? If it's C-Stock, how are you able to run with all those mods?

As in, a CARB inspector with a portable spectrum analyzer, OBDII reader and a set of neoprene gloves could sniff and poke the CST cars on grid and pass them OR It passed when I renewed my tabs...

This year im looking to take my driving and miata to the next level, so im going to try and do a better job or updating this thread and filling it with more data, photos, videos and information. Fighting the oversteer issues has finally come to an end. By lowering down the rear of the car by 2- 1/2 turns has made my mazdaspeed more adjustable in the corners. Now I can choose with the throttle and brake inputs understeer / oversteer depending on the corner and situation. Hopefully niether The no rear bar with FM front bar setup is almost too relaxed. Even with 600lb front springs it could change direction more quickly. Im debating on going with a larger RB bar and the stock MSM bar in hopes of stiffing up the transitions or upping the spring rate to 800 in the front (proportionally in the rear as well). My goal is to make it as fast as if it were an STR car. Then next year add R-comps and race PAX and hit Nationals along with the CD event on the National Tour. So only small adjustments on the car, but there were BIG adjustments with my driving this weekend. I took the evolution driving school ( www.evoschool.com) Challenge Course. It was taught by the venerable Multi Time Natinoal Champion Brian Peters. I found that I was focusing too much on the apex instead of looking through the corner to the next element as well as staying closer on the slalom cones. The other significant improvement in my driving came from the actually driving at the limit during the WHOLE course. Trying to make sure the car was dancing on the edge of either oversteer or understeer everywhere helped pick up the last bit of time i needed to come close to Brian Peters challenge time. I dropped my personal wall time from 65.9 to 64.5 to a stunning 63.9 behind Brian's 63.8. Practice best time 63.975 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1RY-NRRfJkTaking the knowledge from the challenge school helped big time on Sunday with the Championship event. I placed 2nd behind Ken Montinishi ( http://toyotires.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=140) in a porsche GT3 61.088 to my 63.083. He doesn't normally race in CST so it wont effect my overall standings but it was amazing to see just how fast a Porsche could go, which was faster than every STR car. My best champ time was a 63.083 while my best x-run time was 62.293. Brian Peters ran a 61.400 in his STR 350z. Complete Results here ( http://members.quixnet.net/free2000/cscc031013_fin.htm) Best x-run video 62.293 http://youtu.be/maCiOakOThMIf anyone is interested in looking at my data from HLT i can email it you. it opens in Vbox Circuit tools.
