Sorry its been so long since I have updated the build tread. Recently its been a lot of maintenance , replacing the alternator getting an alignment etc...

This weekend has been a project to be able to run less fuel in the car for the events. Bigger line and a better fuel filter. Something tells me 4 years of e85 on a oem mazda filter probably isn't good. So I stepped it up to this. http://miataroadster.com/fuelab/b-10525.aspx

Finally installed a proper seat..... swapped the passengers seat and saved 30 lbs! on the minus side I cant see out as a passenger and no more recline.

Washed and Ready to go! We left wayyyy early to make it out of Los Angeles on a Friday before traffic. Keeping the "Street" in Street Prepared!



After about 6 and a half hours we made it!

What an amazing weekend at the Crows Landing Pro Solo!!!! 1st in Bump 4 beating Tom Berry and Paul Russell. Then going on the the super challenge facing a mazdaspeed in E-Street that won its class, Bryan Heitcottier in STU and ultimately the final paring with Jeff Kiesel in his sprite. At the end I won the Super Challenge and broke out on my final runs.

Then drove it home 6 hours.. towing..

lol... only certain types of manifold can hold your drink for you

I did notice that. It'll be interesting to see what gains you find from that. I went to a VICS from a 99 this year, but it was in conjunction with a few other changes so its difficult to measure the exact gains from the IM.

any other suggestions? I wonder if port matching the IM to the head is worth it. Most people say no.

I just picked up a 2005 MSM and plan to run BSP next year and ES this year.  Your thread will be of great help.  Thanks in advance lol.

Since this forum is become read only. I thought that I would have my final post be a re-cap of the 2016 Solo Nationals.

It was a banner year for the msm!!

1st in BSP for the Pro Solo Finale, TOP qualifier, and I made it to the second round in the challenge
1st in the BSP ProSolo points championship.
5th in the Overall Super Challenge Points Championship

1st at the SCCA Solo Nationals in BSP

and I would have won a Triad award but they changed the rules for 2016 and are NOT allowing an index of all classes without 3 to be used. So basically no one outside of csp/dp can win one in a street prepped or Prepped class. Ah well.

A huge Thank you to Bill Wilner @ Miataroaster.com for always going above and beyond for me. MazdaMotorsports & Hooiser Tire deserve a special mention as well for all the contingency they provide.
