Just picked up my car from the Dealer's Service Department and here's the part number for the bushing they replaced under warranty:

Y601-17-515

The number checks out OK on my http://www.MazdaMotorsports.com Shopping Cart ($5.05 is the team member price).

Cheers,

Barry

i just did mine today. found the bushing totally intact, just popped off. either way, a washer from lowes took care of that issue and now the shifter is WONDERFUL!!!

Mine was nice and snug, not to mention in good shape. I wonder if the washer would still be a good thing? But mine is now shifting wonderfully like before my shifter turret top got loose, so I'll leave it as is.

I purchased my '04 MSM a year ago with 7000. The shifter over the past year has continued to get worse and i now have 20,000 miles onit. Is it possible that it's the bushing that is causing this? The car wasn't a DD until I purchased it and it has seen more miles this past year than it did in it's first 3 and a half years sitting in a garage. If it is the bushing, I'm going to tear it apart this weekend.
