So I have an opportunity to pick up a second mazda speed. Bone stock 2004 VR in mint shape with 22,000 miles on it for 13,000 bucks. Would You?

Leather seats or cloth seats? Still seems a little high.

Depends what you want to do with it, how it affects your finances, if you have garage space, etc. For me, no, I would not want another car. I'm out of garage space, and have higher priorities for my finances. Yes, I am often temped by interesting cars and good deals. Smiley

I wouldn't. My next vehicle will be another Toyota 4runner or tacoma. I miss having 4wd. I do kinda want a trashed NA that I could just beat on at autox and not care. But only if it came with a hardtop I could put on the msm.

My thought is that I would take all of the mods off my existing car that has 80,000 miles on it and put them on the better car. Then sell off my old one in Stock form. It looks and runs well. And up here in Canada would still fetch 11,000 to 12,000 dollars. Clean regular NB'S  seem to fetch 8 to 10,000 around here (im converting everything to miles and American dollars here for you) Leaving me with a well modded lower mileage better msm.

That's about what I would take for my GT with 25K in the odometer.

Pics?  Has it been garaged for the last ten years?

It's really a question of whether it's worth it to you.

I would not pick up another speed as a second car myself. There are so many great cars out there to try out why limit yourself to one. I have been salivating over a AW11 with a fresh rebuilt 4AG in it for a few weeks now under the guise of my sons 18th birthday car.

for the uneducated that a first gen MR2 with 1.6 dohc. same motor as an AE86

Well he's really talking about just getting one in nicer shape, switching his parts over, and seeking the worse off one. Not having 2 of the same car.

If you have the time and money then by all means. Just make sure it doesn't have some hidden problem that will turn your upgrade into a downgrade.

The price for that trim level seems a little high to me. And variety is the spice of life, so I would most likely buy something else.

Price seems steep. But, bone stock I am starting to wonder how many there are now? What the appreciation will be as a limited edition 10 or 20 years down the road? Long shot (big space) investment?? I could see myself spending more than I should on a stock (likely the only production turbo) 04' Miata in the future.
