Also when the stereo is turned on it sounds like the disc is trying to change or eject.

The 6 disc changer is basically a module attached to the main part of the radio. You might be able to get the disc(s) out if you pull the radio and remove the changer module.

I had the same issue a couple years ago.  Once a CD is stuck in there I'm not sure it can be extracted except by force (bending stuff).  I ended up buying a used headunit (shouldn't be hard to find) and replacing the CD changer module.

An audio tech told me the stock unit will be damaged if you use CDs you burned yourself.  It's only compatible with store-bought CDs.  I stopped using home made CDs after mine did it once.  It worked for a while but stuck again recently and is now working again but I don't trust it.  I may just put a Grom in and use my cell exclusively.

Sounds to me like someone wanted to sell you a new head unit.  I've been using burned CDs in the stock unit since the car was new.  No troubles.

Hard to see the connection between a burned CD and the disc getting stuck, assuming no added stick-on labels and blanks of good quality.

It could have something to do with the fact that many burners can burn closer to the edge of the disc than what is standard.  Supposedly it could damage the player if the edge of the readable disc is beyond the players range. I've never had a problem either though.

My CD player wouldn't eject for a while, then became OK again, and finally gave up.  I picked up a used whole radio and swapped the CD into mine because of cosmetics on the other radio.  This CD unit is now skipping tracks, sometimes dropping volume to nothing or ejecting the CD in mid play.  I'm going to try one more thing before determining that these Bose units weren't built to last forever.
