I just installed a pair of 3" speakers in my aero board. And they really add a lot to the sound quality. However, the buzz from the doors speakers is annoying. Is the problem the speakers, the speaker mounting or can I subdue it with a little speaker mat?

It may be the speakers. Does it depend on volume level? Mine would buzz after being stored for the winter first just one side then both but continued to get worse. Eventually replaced them with Clearwater speakers.

Then the Clearwater speakers fixed the buzzing I assume. Did you just replace the six inch speakers or did you do the whole package?

The kit came with four speakers, so both speakers in each door were replaced. The windblocker was unchanged. The buzz would go away after they were on for awhile but over time it took longer to go away. The Bose speakers are a lower impedance and the Clearwaters came with a matching network so they work with the Bose system. Since I did not want to go thru the effort of replacing the Bose amp the Clearwaters seemed like the easiest route. The buzz sounded more like a torn speaker than a vibration due to mounting. It was present at low volume levels.

The buzz went away ater I replaced the speakers. The most likely issue was the voice coils on the Bose were rubbing. Because mine buzzed at low volume levels it indicated a bad speaker not a vibration in the mounting. The sound was distorted at all volume levels and could be heard from the speaker not the door panels.

Clearwaters are installed and still that minor buzz. Had some dynamite hanging around and added a small piece to the inside door panels so no more buzz!
