Hi all.

I had a pioneer DEH-6600BT stereo laying around from my last miata. it has ipod and USB interface, full audio tuning and CD and also AUX as well as Bluetooth capability.

All I had was the stereo/head unit itself and the wiring pigtail on the back of it.

I wired the connector as so, and Im getting full power/functionality of the stereo but no actual sound. FWIW I have a roll-bar installed and I have no "rear wind-blocker" speakers...the only speakers are the ones in the door (I'm guessing the fronts)....

I removed the OEM radio, and snipped the wire harness connector off and then spliced the wires as follows...these came from the table of wires and color coding from miata.net's garage section in the slot "general wires in 2004+ bose systems".

Miata Wires:                            DEH-6600BT Wires:
(power)
Battery 12v ....Blue/Red..........to Unit "Battery"- yellow
IGN 12v.... Black/blue............to Unit "Acsessory" - red
Power Ant. ...Grey/Black..........to Unit "PowAnt" - Blue/white
Ground ...Big Black.................to Unit "Grnd" - Black

(sound)
Left Front + ... black...............to Unit "LF+" -white
Left front - ... green.................to unit "LF-" - white/black
Right front +... red...................to unit "RF+" - grey
Right front -...white.................to unit "RF-" - grey/black

Rear Right+... green/yellow........to unit "RR+" - purple
Rear Right-...green/black...........to unit "RR-" - purple/black
Rear Left+...blue/yellow..............to unit "RL+" - green
Rear Left-...yellow................to unit "RL-" -green/black

(left over / UN-used by new stereo wires)
Pulsed Dimmer...Red/Black.................connected back to UN-plugged connector
Inverted Dimming...Grey/red.............connected back to UN-plugged connector
Speed Pulse...Green/Red..................connected back to UN-plugged connector
Amp Remote...LightGreen/Black .........connected back to UN-plugged connector

Sounds like you have the Bose amp still in the circuit and your not providing it an on signal.  Check the audio section for help, this has been mentioned in the past.

I didn't see anything on how to fix it. do I need to wire it to the fuse box or something??

No you need to wire the amps on signal to the radios signal that turns on an amp.

This is why I don't cut off factory connectors if at all possible. For under $10 you could have bought the adapter plug kit, and be done.
