That's a good number, but don't expect to get much more than a party line explanation from their level one people, especially if you have a mechanical problem you are questioning. I was told Mazda Tech had the final say here, and they could only document our conversation. I wasn't pleased. YMMV... I'm considering my options.

I have an issue. This car is way too much bang for the buck. I'm looking for a sporty four door hatchback for my wife, and everything seems overpriced compared to the performance I get out of my MSM. Why would Mazda do this! Why would they ruin every other car for me!

Alright, you primitive screwheads, listen up! You see this? This is my BOOMstick
Auto Meter Boost Gauge and Voodoo shift knob (I love my knob.) Begi SG SS DP, FM midpipe and muffler. Begi TB, AEM CAI, Hallman RX MBC, Innovate WB02, GROM Ipod Adapter.
Waiting to install EBay IC, FM O2 mod, and MegaSquirt (under construction). Does everyone else have a garage full of parts?

So are these ISSUES for Mazda? Maybe this thread should focus on ways Mazda could better help it's customers to keep them loyal to the breed.

You mean like an '04 with 66K miles that blew the #2 spark plug out of the head?

So how has Mazda responded to your issue? Our cars are out of warranty now, but how did Mazda respond for you?
I had shifting issues with the tranny in my car and got a warranty repair near the end of the warranty. Instead of replacing the unit, they chose to "repair" the problem. They replaced 5th and 6th gears and related components, but they did not repair the 2nd gear grind I reported. It took them 2 weeks to complete the job because they had to order extra parts along the way, but they gave me a free loaner 3 so I was not without wheels.
The main grinding issue into 5th gear was resolved, but the 2nd gear grind was not. I eventually put the Motorcraft trans fluid in and the 2nd gear grind has *almost* gone away; it is there on cold mornings when I don't let the trans warm up a bit before driving away.
